Change
On Sunday everything went wrong. First we lost the sun. The weather turned back to its normal, gloomy self. Then the bus, always on time, never came. So I took another, unfamiliar one that had entered the unknown before it broke down. The driver put on a luminous vest and disappeared. So did the light. Later an out of service vehicle floated by and took mercy on me in the darkness and I was accepted on board of an unsure ride. I hope all of this has been enough to change fate. But we are locked in the same bodies still.
Leaving UCD
A place to be. Four or five green plastic chairs around a white table. The School of Law building is next with quotations written on its glass walls. Quotations about peace, justice and freedom. There's a paper cup of latte on the table 'Frank and honest' printed on its front and 'The moment of truth' on the backside. Here I am writing my journal in the first morning light. Without censorship as I learnt from an Irish poet yesterday visiting museum. Freedom is the clarity of thought and conscience. As long as you are let to have those by your body, you will still have a chance of meaning. |
